My First Interview

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

I have just had my first interview about Second Life. Actually, it was supposed to be in Second Life as well, but since it’s Wednesday… Need I say more? Boy, am I glad that we’ve chosen a Friday for our seminar (and that was before I knew about Wednesdays in SL, too).

So we used Teamspeak to communicate and talked about the plans for our seminar, the contents and setting.

Here’s the image I sent to them beforehand as a talking point:

My interview partner is a member of the Second Life seminar at the Graduiertenkolleg E-Learning of the TU Darmstadt. They’re looking for SLeducators willing to be interviewed. Why, of course! ;-)

As soon as the inteview recording is made available to me, I will post it here.

First Brainstorming Session

Thursday, February 1st, 2007

On Monday, I had the first meeting with Rainer Holtei from the Chair of Medieval English Literature and Historical Linguistics to discuss ideas.

Things are shaping up nicely, and we are ready to present the concept to the head of the department, Professor Busse.

Also, we’ve now got an official title:

Once and Future World – The Middle Ages in Second Life

SL at the Heinrich-Heine-University of Duesseldorf

Wednesday, January 24th, 2007

Last week, I contacted my “old” university and sent them a concept detailing my ideas for a seminar in / on Second Life.

The reaction far exceeded my expectations. ;-)

Accordingly, we will get together soon and do quite a bit of planning with the aim of offering the seminar in the winter semester 2007/08.  I’m going to keep track of the developements here and report on challenges and solutions.
