This site is for educators interested in using Second Life for educational purposes – or more generally – those who want to jump ahead of the wave, and take a sneak peak at the emerging 3D Internet (More commonly know as Web 3.0) As educators, we are in for a treat!!!

Immersive Education (Media Grid initiative)

Immersive Education, a Media Grid initiative, is a novel learning platform that combines interactive 3D graphics, commercial game and simulation technology, virtual reality, voice chat (Voice over IP/VoIP), Web cameras (webcams) and rich digital media with collaborative online course environments and classrooms.

NMC Campus Teacher’s Buzz Session

The NMC is offering a regularly scheduled, informal discussion session for practicing teachers using Second Life, or those just plain interested in the idea or process of using SL for a class. Not a series of lectures or presentations, we envision more of a relaxed coffee hour to share the “buzz”.
